I love it that the 2034 plan incorporates more than just STEAM.

I love the acknowledgement that it is important for students to develop real-life skills and not just memorize facts to recall at test time. And that Nature-Based learning is beneficial.

I especially love the acknowledgment that Wellness & Wellbeing are things that now need to be taught in school. The next generation needs to understand this better than the last.

I would love to see Nutrition and Body-Movement Awareness specifically listed here too. (A typical child sees about 3000+ advertisements per day(!). How many of those are junk food for profit?) Let's teach our kids the science of self-care so that they at least know that there are more choices than what is advertised to them.

Also, in the spirit of Wellness Teaching, I hope that schools will start providing students with a place to slow down and take a mental break when needed: quiet, tech-free rooms available to retreat to, or even daily mindful moments with the morning announcements.

There are two things that I think need to be stopped immediately in our school system:

1) Lunch-time movies on daily basis. Once in a while is okay but teaching kids to watch TV while eating is the exact opposite of being mindful and learning social skills. We need to REDUCE that amount of screens our kids are getting, not give them more.

2) Allowing schools and staff to offer students junk food for reward. A parent shouldn't have to fight with a teacher to have them stop giving suckers to their kids.

Love the HUB at the Comp. It has provided flexibility and creativity for both of my children. It hugely compliments the regular classroom learning

We should be able to leave school property as 9th graders,in my opinion it doesn’t minimize cases at all because we are already carrying outside germs inside at the start of the day

Start expanding opportunities for students, a wide variety of sports and extracurriculars in each school will help with wellness.
