Religion should not be included in the social studies curriculum

Religion does not belong in the Social Studies curriculum. Introducing the concept of monotheism in Grade 2 is inappropriate. Are you approaching this from the perspective of a believer in that faith or from a religious studies perspective? It isn't appropriate to disregard individual's personal beliefs. And, where is the introduction then of no belief - atheism or new spiritual movements. This shouldn't be in an elementary public grade school classroom. If I wanted my children to learn about Catholicism I would have enrolled in the Catholic system.
